There’s a moment many of us reach where life looks fine on the outside, but inside, something feels off. It’s not always dramatic. Sometimes it’s a quiet nudge: a restless walk, a busy mind, or an ache that doesn’t go away. You might call it a midlife itch, a crossroads, or just knowing something has to shift.
At We Are Fit Attitude (WAFA), we talk a lot about these moments. Because they’re more common than you might think. And they often signal that change is not just possible – it’s necessary.
The Discomfort That Sparks Growth
Earlier this year, I found myself sitting on the edge of a desert cliff in Riyadh, feeling that nudge. My thoughts had been circling for weeks. I wasn’t unhappy. But I was restless. I realised I had been avoiding the behind-the-scenes work in WAFA that I didn’t enjoy – systems, logistics, the bits no one sees but that matter.
My coach asked a simple but powerful question: “Is your schedule aligned with the person you want to become?” That one sentence changed everything. Because if the answer is no, something needs to shift.
Change is rarely convenient. It often comes wrapped in resistance, discomfort, even fear. But it also brings clarity. It brings energy. It brings alignment.
Change Without the Overhaul
You don’t need a total reinvention. Sometimes the most powerful changes begin with small decisions. A single new habit. Saying no. Signing up for something you’ve been putting off.
Our mindset coach Teresa reminds us often: transformation doesn’t start with motivation. It starts with a decision. A moment of honesty. A quiet declaration that says, “I want something more.”
Sabina, one of our WAFA members, had her moment during a low point. Her journey didn’t begin with confidence – it began with courage. That courage led to change.
The Story You Tell Yourself
We all carry scripts in our heads. Stories about what’s possible, what’s realistic, what’s too late. And most of those scripts are written by fear, not fact.
But here’s the truth: you are not stuck. You are capable of writing a new chapter, even if the page you’re on feels messy.
Whether it’s changing how you move, how you eat, how you think – or all of the above – you don’t have to do it alone. That’s why WAFA exists. To support the shift. To hold space for discomfort. To celebrate progress, not perfection.
Let’s Rethink What Midlife Can Be
You don’t have to settle for “this is just how it is now.” Your 40s, 50s and 60s can be a launchpad, not a slowdown.
If something’s been nudging you, consider this your permission slip to act on it.
